If you’ve not been feeling present, you have fears and worries that you can’t seem to shake off, you’ve lost interest in things or you’re struggling to feel connected to people, try some grounding techniques.
When we’re grounded, we feel at ease, we’re present and feel stable. It’s easy to become ungrounded, perhaps we’ve not been present with ourselves enough and got caught up in life.
These techniques will help you to reconnect with yourself and feel more at ease:
- List 5 things you’re grateful for and feel the emotion connected with them. To truly feel the emotion, imagine you didn’t have them and what that would mean.
- Listen to music that inspires you.
- Sit by yourself for 5 minutes and pay attention to what you can hear around you.
- Try boxed breathing. Breathe in for 4 seconds. Hold for 4 seconds. Breathe out for 4 seconds. Hold for 4 seconds.
