5 Ways to Reconnect with Yourself

Have you been feeling disconnected from yourself lately? Maybe you’ve been feeling like you don’t know who you truly are, like you haven’t felt very strong in your personal identity, or like you haven’t been doing things to honour your mindbody, or soul lately.

I believe the most important relationship you’ll ever have is the one with yourself. When you are able to create a deeply connected, loving, and respectful relationship with yourself… You can do anything! It becomes so much easier to trust yourself, to take action towards your dreams, and to respect your own boundaries when you feel connected to yourself. I want to help you get there.

5 Ways to Reconnect with Yourself

Here are 5 tips to help you get reconnected with yourself:

1. Turn Inwards & Release Distractions

Sometimes when we get too focused on the world around us, we can feel disconnected from who we truly are. To turn the focus back inward, set aside some time to turn off the phone, release distractions, and spend time alone. Ask yourself:

  • Have I been looking outwards lately?
  • Have I been seeking validation from others?
  • Have I been comparing my life to the lives of others?
  • Have I been consumed with what other people are doing with their lives?
  • Have I been consumed with what other people think of me?

If the answer to any of those questions is yes, then you may have just discovered a major clue as to why you’ve been feeling disconnected from yourself lately. When we are outward-focused, it’s really hard to be inward-focused.

2. Journal

I encourage you to try starting a journaling practice! I’ve been journaling for about a decade and it’s been an essential part of getting to know myself and love myself on a deeper level.

Journaling about your feelings can help you connect back to who you are, what you want, and why you’re feeling the way you’re feeling. Take out your journal and write anything that comes to you. Inside my #FREE Digital Library, I have tons of journal prompts and tips for journaling that I think you’ll find helpful!

3. Do activities you enjoy

Sometimes when we feel disconnected from ourselves, the best thing we can do is a high-vibe activity that we love. Whether it’s cooking, dancing, running, reading, or making art, any type of creative expression can be helpful.

What brings you joy? What lights you up?

When you prioritise joy, life is simply better, and it becomes easier to get in touch with who you are! Don’t overthink it.

4. Share how you’re feeling with someone you trust

Speaking up and sharing your truth activates the throat chakra, helping you feel more powerful and supported by those around you.

Whether it’s a close friend, family member, coach, or therapist, having a support system is crucial!

5. Take action towards a goal or dream

What do you truly want in your life? Reminding yourself that you’re the creator of your reality can be really helpful in remembering your purpose and who you are. Sometimes we can get bogged down by life circumstances and forget they we actually have a lot of control in our lives!

When you remember all that you can control, such as your thoughts, choices, and energy, you’re able to start taking action towards what you truly want. And the result? A closer relationship with yourself and a more aligned life!
