Stepping away from the busyness

Stop the glorification of busy – I must raise my hand. I spent many years being too busy to have a compassionate conversation, too busy hustling and making ends meet to enjoy quality time with Khushi, friends and our beautiful home, and too busy working to replenish my health. All in the name of busy is better. That life looked pretty perfect from the outside, but it was far from perfect on the inside.

So… How about you try to pause and simply be this week? You aren’t missing anything anywhere else. You’re only missing the goodness in front of you.

Stepping away from the busyness

It’s not our job to judge our own work. It’s our job to create. Our job is to share what we have right now in this moment. Our job is to come as we are and give it our best shot, every single day.

Never give up on your journey. Don’t ever give in. Don’t ever stop trying. Don’t ever sell out or sell yourself short.

You have everything right now. The best in life isn’t somewhere else – it’s right where you are at this moment. Notice it, and make it memorable.

How does that sound?!

How do you start? By acknowledging and paying closer attention to the gifts you already have in front of you. I start my day with the simplest gratitude practice: 3 things I am grateful for. Today this was on my list:

  • Waking up early and see the sunrise
  • Walking on the beach
  • A cup of tea and a nourishing lunch

“Being satisfied with what we already have is a magical golden key to being alive in a full, unrestricted, and inspired way.”

It’s so easy to be caught up in all that we need to do and all of our challenges, problems, goals, dreams, and worries that we forget to slow down and simply be – to practise intentional living. What intentional living looks like:

  • It’s re-evaluating friendships + pouring into the ones you care about.
  • It’s taking charge of your finances and being responsible.
  • It’s setting goals you actually care about and then taking steps to make sure they happen.
  • It’s getting yourself into a healthy place mentally + physically.

It’s changing your entire lifestyle.

Intentional living is the act of taking your core values and beliefs to consistently make decisions that line up with those core values and beliefs.
