There Are 2 Types Of Self. Which One Are You?

Have you noticed that sometimes when you want to do something and you’re initially excited about it, you lose motivation and willpower, and you let your goal fade out? There are things outside of your comfort zone that you know would be beneficial for you, but you end up spending more time in your comfort zone, doing the same things in the same way, and occasionally complaining about how nothing is changing.

Time to get out of your comfort zone? Here’s how!
RELATED: Time to get out of your comfort zone? Here’s how!

Did you know that there are 2 types of self in everyone?

There’s an empowering and uplifting self + a disempowering and worried self.

An empowering one is the part of you that:

  • feels excitement when you set a new goal
  • keeps promises to yourself and others
  • continually looks for ways to grow and improve
  • is willing to speak up and say what needs to be said

And disempowering one is the part of you that:

Well… It likes to sabotage everything the empowering part wants.

Let’s see how this can apply to your life:

Let’s take a look at your thoughts:

  • Are your thoughts mostly uplifting or disempowering?
  • Do you often talk yourself out of opportunities that could be really good for you?
  • When something doesn’t go as planned, do you say ‘’Oh my God, I’m never doing this again! This was embarrassing!’’ or do you say ‘’Alright, I’ll try again tomorrow!’’

Which part of you are you letting win? The part that’s sabotaging you? Or the uplifting part?

We all have both. No one is excited and happy all the time. But once you get to know your sabotaging part: why it’s even there, what are all the ways it can show up, what’s driving its behaviour – that’s when you can get off the autopilot and consciously choose what’s best for you.
