1. Get organised – How many accounts and credit cards do you have? How much debt do you have?
  2. Understand your income and expenses
  3. Automate your retirement contributions
  4. Increase your retirement contributions
  5. Automate your emergency savings
  6. Make your emergency money work harder for you
  7. Put your bills on autopay
  8. Make sure you’re paying more than the minimum on your credit card balance
  9. Pull your credit card statements and analyse your spending
  10. Cancel subscriptions, contracts etc. you don’t use
  11. Set up a system to track your spending – I do that through my mobile banking app
  12. Look up your credit score
  13. Request a free credit report
  14. Review your life insurance policy
  15. Review your health insurance policy
  16. Review your homeowners or renters insurance policy
  17. Review your car insurance policy
  18. Review any other insurance policies you own
  19. Come up with a plan to tackle debt
  20. Renegotiate interest rates on your debt and start paying it down
  21. Try a no-spend month
  22. Refinance your mortgage or ask for a rent break
  23. Make sure your retirement money is properly invested
  24. Start investing outside of your retirement account
  25. Write down 3-5 specific money or wealth goals
  26. Have a productive money conversation with your partner
  27. Come up with ways to generate more income
  28. Make a will
  29. Come up with a plan for donating
  30. Consider hiring a financial advisor
