What To Do When You’re Feeling Uninspired

It’s easy to fall into a slump and feel completely uninspired. It happens to everyone. The trick is finding the techniques to get yourself out of it and to come out even better on the other side. Start by not getting down on yourself. This only adds fuel to the fire.

It’s important to make lists when you’re feeling good about what to do when you’re feeling down. This way you can turn to the ideas you recorded when you’re not in the best mood. It’s not always easy to think of ways to motivate yourself on your own. See what to do when you’re feeling uninspired.

Read a Book

Kick back and read a book to spark your creativity. Reading is a great way to get your mind off of whatever it is that’s bothering you. It refocuses your attention on the story or information you’re taking in, and your brain starts to calm down. Have books handy and read them on a consistent basis to try and prevent you from feeling unmotivated. It’s a great activity to practice any day of the week.

Journal

Take time to write down your feelings. Get out whatever’s bothering you on paper. You don’t have to share it with anyone. Do it for yourself. It feels good to get worries off your chest and see what’s truly bothering you. Record what’s making you feel sluggish and ideas for turning your attitude around to focus on the positive. Make a list of what you’re grateful for and appreciate in your life. While you’re at it, why not create a vision board? Create a collage of your favourite pictures and quotes.

Go for a Run

Exercise is the perfect way to get your mind back on track. The endorphins feel so good and your body will thank you later for the movement. Go outside and be one with nature. Say hi to people on the street as you pass them by and play your music to get you pumped up about life. The hardest part is getting yourself out the door. Once you’re out there running, you won’t regret it.

Find Inspiration Online

Go online, but participate in productive tasks and projects. There are templates for you to use and it’s easy to write a message that’s encouraging and that you can share with others. It’s also fun to pin different motivational sayings on your Pinterest boards. You’ll soon start feeling like a whole new person after these activities.

Remember Past Successes

It’s important to remember all you’ve accomplished when you’re feeling down. Think about all you’ve done and achieved throughout your lifetime and how it made you feel at the time. Your mind will start to connect with positive emotions, and you may begin to start believing in yourself again. Write down a list of events if it’s easier for you to see them that way.

Don’t panic if you’re not feeling motivated all the time. Step back and seek out what’s bothering you. This is what to do when you’re feeling uninspired.
