Live a Well-Designed Life Personality, Character & Self-Discovery

What do you want for your life?

“What do I want to do with my life?” It’s a question all of us think about at one point or another. For some, the answer comes easily. For others, it takes a lifetime to figure out.

What do you want for your life

It’s easy to just go through the motions and continue to do what’s comfortable and familiar. But for those of you who seek fulfilment, who want to do more, these questions will help you paint a clearer picture of what you want to do with your life.

  • What are the things I’m most passionate about?
  • What are my greatest accomplishments in life so far?
  • If my life had absolutely no limits, what would I choose to have and what would I choose to do?
  • What are my goals in life?
  • Whom do I admire most in the world?
  • What do I not like to do?
  • How hard am I willing to work to get what I want?

Many of us, myself included, have spent our lives thinking we needed to be, or do, something extraordinary to be adored, or included, or safe. Even when we achieved that rung, there was always another, and another, and yet another, in our minds. Let’s debunk the super-achiever myth, and let love lead us, rather than ever chasing anything again.

I invite you to spend a little time to get clear. What do you want for your life? What would you want most if you gave yourself permission?

Think about your family life, friends, work, creativity, spirituality, community, charity, wellbeing, romantic and social life … what would it all look like?

Get an art journal with blank pages and some coloured pens or pencils. Write, draw, cut out pictures from magazines, use a Pinterest board, write inspiring quotes, dream larger than the life you are currently living. Vision it all. This is your one and only life. Give yourself the gift of living it.
