Cracked Open: When Life Reshapes Your Plans for the Better
If you’d asked me last year what this season of life would look like, I would’ve painted a very different picture.
Towards the end of 2023, I had a plan.
For my life.
For my business.
It was clear, structured, and full of intention.
But as life often does, the universe had other ideas.
On the 1st of January this year, something happened – unexpected, completely out of the blue – that cracked me open.
It made me question everything.
And almost overnight, the direction I thought I was heading in shifted.
Suddenly, my work became deeply rooted in midlife women and menopause – something so close to my own experience. It felt necessary. Urgent. Sacred.
But as the first few months of the year unfolded, I realised something deeper:
Midlife is about so much more than menopause.
It’s about reinvention.
Rediscovery.
Reclaiming who you are beneath the layers.
And that’s when the vision for Lifestyle Design for Midlife Women came through – not as a new idea, but as a remembering of what had always been mine.
Midlife has taught me the beauty of stepping back.
Of choosing stillness – not to escape, but to return.
Because clarity doesn’t live in the chaos.
It comes in the quiet, in the sacred space where your inner voice finally has room to whisper.
And the truth is, you already know what you need.
You’ve always known.
If you’re feeling lost, unsure, or overwhelmed, come back to your breath.
Step outside.
Switch off the noise.
Ask yourself gently: What do I need right now?
And trust that the answer will find you. It’s been waiting.
Over the years, my business has grown alongside me.
It’s evolved with every chapter I’ve walked through.
And in many ways, it’s kept me accountable, encouraging me to grow, to learn, to live in alignment with what I teach.
Most of the time, I do implement what I learn.
I practice what I preach.
But there’s one area that has remained… neglected.
Self-care. Not the bubble bath kind. The kind that says: I deserve to look and feel my best.
The truth?
Despite all my intentions, all the tiny habits I’ve mapped out and the routines I’ve created… I rarely follow through.
Tending to my body, prioritising my appearance, showing up for me in that way, hasn’t been a true priority.
And yet, I want it to be.
Not from a place of vanity or perfectionism, but from a place of love.
Because I deserve to feel fabulous.
And this body, this face, this vessel that carries me through midlife – it deserves reverence.
So I’m choosing to honour that now.
Not with grand gestures, but with gentle consistency.
Tiny acts of devotion.
Little love notes to myself in the form of skincare, movement, style, and nourishment.
It’s time.
Time to align every part of my life with the woman I am now – and the woman I’m still becoming.
